Went out shopping today and decided to check out the local Win-Co and it was Win-Co for the WIN! The prices are much better than the local Wal-Mart and the produce and meat much better. I just have to adjust my buying a bit more back to bulk, but with planning that's fine. They've got a much better variety of things
Right now there's two whole chickens in the oven [over $3.00 cheaper than buying precooked] and I'm trying the Quick Roast Chicken method from 'Instructables'. They just came out and they both look great, smell better and are coming out just right as to internal temps. Nice crispy skin and moist meat. So there will be big chunks of fresh roast chicken available for the rest of the week for stir fry and such.
I'll be doing this a lot more often if I can go from fresh chicken to roast in under an hour.
