Jan. 8th, 2008 05:18 pmIt's always interesting when music stimulates ideas. Early on in my fanfic writing experience, I wrote a few 'songfics' [fiction inspired by and incorporating song lyrics as an integral portion of the writing] and enjoyed the experience.
The following song came up on a list as used by someone else in their creative process [a music vid] and I realized that this song is so dead on for me right now where I am in my life right now it's not funny. I first heard it, of all places, on a "dueSouth" episode called 'Hunting Season' and wrote a piece of SG-1 fic to it years ago.
If you've never heard it, hunt it down. It's worth every moment of the effort. [I may rip it and try to post a part of it so you can get a taste of this incredibly haunting piece if I can find a place to put it.]
But for right now, I can at least give you the lyrics.
