You'd think by now I'd know better

I has the sicks in my head and chest and I feel like crap. But not crap enough to know I've gotten something bad or something that I should go to the ER for some sort of relief.
FWIW: I'm a VA patient. An after hours situation is always seen in the ER because the local VA has no 'Doc in a Box', acute walk-in clinic, etc. You call the tele-health nurse, but they 95% of the time tell you to go to the ER if you have a doubt. I have no doubts. I have a regular, common variety, crap-ass cold: dry hacking cough, sneezing, low grade temp, slight sore throat, general achy feeling. No flu symptoms. But I just don't get sick so for me, this is special.
So the con I was going to day trip today for my Starfleet ship stuff - nope. Other stuff I could be doing today if I didn't go to the con? Nope. Bunkering down in bed on and off with bottles of iced tea and energy water strewn all over the place? Yep. Fighting Edward the Terrible Tabby Tom for the last slice of cold Little Ceaser's pizza? Oh yeah.
