Oh Lordy, this lady scares me...

I'm not sure what would happen if she was asked a question that she didn't already have a canned, stock response to. Yeah, I know politicians tend to stay close to their own policies, but a good politician should be able to phrase and rephrase said policy so it at least they end up sounding intelligent. Palin not only uses and reuses the exact same wording, but you can tell she's not comfortable being put on the spot at all.

Please... if there is a 'Supreme Deity, do *not* put this woman in the line of succession. If something happened to McCain and she ended up with 'the football'* we are so screwed.

Sci Fi Buys ‘Stargate SG-1’ Flicks For Spring ’09 Schedule

-----------
Sci Fi Channel has acquired the U.S. television rights to premiere both of the Stargate SG-1 made-for-DVD movies released so far by MGM, with plans to make them Sunday-night movie events next spring, network officials told Multichannel News Friday.

Stargate: Ark of Truth, released as a DVD this past March, will air first, in early spring, and Stargate: Continuum, released as a DVD this past July, will air late in the spring, according to Thomas Vitale, senior VP of programming and original movies at NBC Universal-owned Sci Fi.
------------

Doesn't surprise me.

My thanks to [livejournal.com profile] icarusancalion for bringing this to my attention.

Scope out the ad in the right hand column. Where I am it's 5PM PDT on Friday, Sept 26th.

Washington Post

So I guess we've discovered time travel because that's the only way I can figure that McCain's won a debate that hasn't even happened yet.

So... is this *really* the sort of fabrication we want out of someone who aspires to the highest political office in the US. Either he didn't know - scary in itself. Or he knew and didn't care. Also scary.

We'll see how this all progresses.

The title says it all. Banned Book Week

from the American Library Association:
“BBW celebrates the freedom to choose or the freedom to express one’s opinion even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read them. After all, intellectual freedom can exist only where these two essential conditions are met.”

I have no problem with parents making a decision about what they feel is appropriate for their children to read, but I strongly disagree that they have the right to make that decision for other people's children. And that they have any right to have books removed from the library or other public forum because they don't like it.

I may be bat-shit crazy and read weird, freaky things - or even write them on occosion, but that's my choice. A person's right to censor others ends with their skin.

[No spoilers - honest. If you know anything about the show, you'll know that the following can be seen as generic comments.]

Three things:

#1: Radek is *so* made of win! :}

#2: Sheppard + things that can explode = BAD.

#3: Daniel + soft, floppy sweater = oh Yeah!

That is all ... for now. At least, until next week's episode.
