To Squeeble, my Bali Baby
Jun. 9th, 2010 01:43 pmI know your oral hygiene has been less than stellar over the last couple of years. No one has been too eager to dig around in your mouth, what with you being 17+ years old. But today your new vet and I made the decision that we have to do something. You're mouth is horrendous and you're losing weight you can't afford to lose. To tomorrow morning you're going in to have a bunch of dental work done in the hopes you'll feel better during whatever years we may get to share.
Just don't be made at me that I'm doing this to/for you. Other than the mouth issue, you're hale and healthy, your lab work all looks fine and your still bright and alert. And the vet was pretty positive about this and didn't once suggest we just 'set you free' of your pain.
I'm terrified that you're poor old bones won't take the stress; that you may not wake up again and go the the Bridge scared, surrounded by strange, scary things and without hearing your momma tell you one last time that she's loves you so very much. If you have to, I'll understand, but I'm hoping and praying that you won't. I know you miss your sister Cufai and your poppa, but I hope you'll stay down here with me just a bit longer.

This is my Bali Baby Squeeble Marie JamesCat, taken a couple of years ago. She's a lot thinner, but just as alert. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers the next few days.
